Ordination of Fr. Conleth Meehan
On Saturday 10th July Conleth Meehan was ordained to the priesthood by Archbishop Dermot Martin. Conleth is the son of Sean and Eileen Meehan, Lurgaboy Lane, Dungannon. They were joined by many relations and neighbours for the ceremony which took place in the pro-cathedral, in Dublin.
On Sunday 11th Fr Conleth celebrated his First Mass in St Patrick’s, Dungannon at 12.30 pm and imparted his first blessing to friends and fellow parishioners.
He has been appointed to the parishes of Kilmacud and Donnybrook and will be closely involved with the Emmanuel Community, who gave a parish mission in Dungannon some years ago.
On behalf of the priests and the people of Dungannon parish we offer the new priest our warmest congratulations and wish him many happy and fruitful years in the service of God’s people.

The Conference has been informed recently that a number of parishioners have received telephone calls from individuals claiming to represent St Vincent De Paul and asking for money for tickets. This activity has not been authorised by the Society and any such requests should be refused.

Dgn and South Tyrone Interagency Group has recently commenced a Home Safety Scheme, which will particularly benefit senior citizens and vulnerable people. Participants can avail of home safety advice and if appropriate, have free home security equipment fitted. Knock Summer Festival 2010 “Walk by Faith”

Day Hospice Unit
A Day Hospice Unit is open on Tues, Wed and Thurs from 10am - 2pm on D Floor, South Tyrone Hospital. It is a nurse managed unit which offers respite and support to patients with advanced illnesses such as Cancer, Multiple Sclerosis and Motor Neurone Disease. It is available during the day to people who are living at home, whilst providing respite for their full-time carers.
Clonmore Through The Years
“Clonmore Through The Years” is a local history project funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund and delivered by Clonmore Regeneration Group. The project involves the collection of peoples’ memories, photos, video footage etc. about the Sacred Heart Chapel, Clonmore, Robert Emmets GFC and Clintyclay Primary School. These materials will be collated in book and DVD format to be celebrated at an event and exhibition later in the year.

Transport To Mass
An Ulsterbus travels to 12.30pm Mass every Sunday. The bus leaves the depot at 12.05 and stops at Molloys, Ballygawley Road, Lisnahull, Quarry Lane, Mournebeg Drive, Altmore Drive, arriving at St Patrick’s at 12.25pm. The return journey begins at St Patrick’s at 1.15pm.
