Edendork PS Jersey Day

Mrs McAlinden and pupils from Edendork PS presenting a cheque to Dean CurryOn Friday 24th April 2009, Edendork P.S. celebrated 125 years of the Gaelic Athletic Association and encouraged all children to wear a GAA jersey to school.
Each child was asked to make a voluntary donation of £2 with the proceeds of this event being in aid of St. Patrick’s Church restoration Fund.

A tremendous amount of £414 was raised which demonstrated the school’s support of the local Church while simultaneously promoting a traditional game.

This academic year (2009/2010) Edendork P.S. has named St Patrick’s Church Restoration Fund as the charity they will be supporting this year.

St. Patrick's Primary Fitness DayMolai, Peter and Mrs Hampsey presenting the cheque to Dean Curry
On June 19th, Mrs Hampsey, Molai and Peter presented Dean Currie with a cheque for £5000 on behalf of Saint Patrick’s Primary School for Saint Patrick’s Church Restoration Fund.

The staff and pupils of Saint Patrick’s Primary School were very eager to contribute to the Church Fund and it was decided that our annual Energy Fitness Day, led by Freddie Kinnersley, would be a fun way for our school community to raise funds for the Church.  As always, the pupils responded excellently and managed to raise an amazing £5000 by seeking sponsors from their family and friends.

We are all looking forward to celebrating school masses and sacraments in our beautifully restored Church.
